Is a graduate of Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC where in 1973 he received a Bachelor’s Degree in History and a concentration in Health, Physical Education and Recreation. After spending 34 years in Parks and Recreation, 10 as Director for the County of Cumberland, he retired in 2007 and moved with his wife, Pam, to Swansboro. Since his arrival, he has served on Swansboro’s Board of Commissioners and on Swansboro’s Tourism Development Authority. In addition to his interest in history and volunteer duties with the Swansboro Historical Association, he also serves on Swansboro’s Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and on Friends of the Hammocks and Bear Island Board of Directors.
